Supporting Public Schools

Public schools are one of the most important investments we make in our communities. They educate every child who walks through their doors, regardless of income, ability, or background, and they are often the heart of our neighborhoods.

That's why I joined my colleagues in signing a letter urging Governor Hochul not to opt New York into a federal tax credit program that would divert public resources to private schools. At a time when our public schools are already facing significant challenges, we should be strengthening them—not redirecting funding away from the students and families who rely on them every day.

Every child deserves access to a strong public education, and every community deserves public schools that have the resources they need to succeed.
