What I Stand For

My Priorities

Building a more affordable, resilient, and connected Ulster County—while protecting the character of the communities we love.

Housing affordability affects every generation—from young families trying to buy their first home to seniors hoping to stay in the communities they helped build.

That's why I'm working on practical solutions, including:

  • Developing an Employer-Assisted Housing program for Ulster County.

  • Supporting H.R. 1340 to raise the federal capital gains exclusion so seniors can downsize more easily and free up homes for the next generation.

  • Working with Habitat for Humanity to create a fairer property tax policy for Habitat homeowners.

  • Supporting property tax exemptions for seniors, veterans, and combat veterans.

Housing & Affordability

Jobs & Small Businesses

As a small business owner myself, I understand how important it is for local businesses to have the opportunity to grow and succeed. Strong local businesses create jobs, strengthen our downtowns, and keep more of our tax dollars circulating in our community.

I'm working to:

  • Modernize the County Procurement Manual to enable more local businesses to compete for county contracts.

  • Advance Artist Corporation legislation in New York State to better support creative entrepreneurs.

  • Promote economic development that supports existing businesses while encouraging thoughtful new investment.

Transportation & Infrastructure

Reliable transportation helps people get to work, school, medical appointments, and community resources. As our county grows, we need practical investments that make everyday life easier.

I'm working to:

  • Launch a pilot bus shelter program to improve safety, comfort, and accessibility for UCAT riders.

  • Support transportation improvements that connect residents with jobs, services, and opportunities.

  • Invest in infrastructure that strengthens our communities today and prepares us for the future.

Strong Communities & Good Government

I believe government works best when it is transparent, accountable, and focused on serving the people. Strong communities are built when everyone is treated with dignity, public institutions earn trust, and residents know their voices matter.

I'm working to:

  • Advocate for clear identification and accountability standards for ICE agents operating in our communities.

  • Oppose the use of county property as staging grounds for federal immigration enforcement activities.

  • Support public schools and other essential public services that strengthen our communities.

  • Strengthen public health by requiring tobacco retailers to verify the age of every purchaser.

I want Ulster County to remain a place where people can afford to live, businesses can thrive, and future generations inherit healthy communities. That means protecting our environment while making thoughtful investments that strengthen our economy and improve quality of life.

I'm committed to:

  • Protecting clean water and our natural resources.

  • Supporting responsible, sustainable economic development.

  • Expanding opportunities for homeownership and workforce housing.

  • Working collaboratively to solve problems with practical, long-term solutions.

Protecting Our Future

Let's Keep Moving Forward

I'm proud of what we've accomplished during my first term, but there's still more work to do. Together, we can continue building a more affordable, resilient, and connected Ulster County where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
